Felon sentenced to 10 years in prison for gun possession

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A Charleston man was sentenced to ten years in prison after being found guilty for being a felon in possession of a firearm or ammunition.

Charleston Police Department investigators said Goss was spotted with a gun in his waistband near Johnson Street and American Street on Oct. 4, 2010.

After an officer told him to stop, police said Goss fled and discarded the handgun.

During the August 2011 trial, Goss presented several witnesses, including his brother, who claimed that he was actually the person who dropped the gun that police recovered.
