MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a man who pulled up next to a man's car and shot him in Moncks Corner Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies responded to a 911 call around 12:30 p.m. in reference to someone who had been shot and who was in a car on Belt Drive.

When authorities arrived they found a Summerville man who had been seriously wounded. That man was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Charleston.

According to investigators, the victim had met with another man in an area between Bonneau and St. Stephen for an apparent drug deal. Investigators say the two men then got into an altercation.

A friend of the victim then drove the car on Belt Drive just off of North Live Oak Drive.

Officials with the sheriff's office says no arrest have been made, but investigators are looking into a number of suspects.
