ADAMS RUN, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Council is hosting another community meeting to gather feedback from the public on MeadWestvaco's proposed East Edisto mixed-use development on Wednesday.
The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wiltown Community Center in Adams Run. The proposed East Edisto project encompasses approximately 30,000 acres located in the western part of Charleston County.
Attendees will hear an overview of the proposed East Edisto development by MeadWestvaco representatives, who have submitted a development application to Charleston County for the project. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments to County Council.
MeadWestvaco planners have come up with a regional master plan for the eastern side of the river. Development would include towns and villages with education and employment opportunities. MWV says the land will remain 75 percent green, but still give people a place to live, work, learn, and shop.
