Charleston police are searching for a suspect after two West Ashley homes were broken into on Tuesday.

According to an incident report, officers were called to a home on Toura Lane around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The homeowner said he arrived home from work to find his back door wide open and screen door broken.

The report states two gold wedding bands and two cups of loose change were stolen from the home.

A next door neighbor told police someone attempted to break into her home on Tuesday as well.

According to the report, the neighbor received a call from her alarm company around 2:10 p.m. to let her know her alarm was going off. She told police it appeared someone tampered with the screen on her back porch and the lock on the screen door was unlatched.
