JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - A 25-year-old man is behind bars accused of an armed robbery that happened this past summer outside a home on Johns Island.
On Thursday morning, Charleston County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home on Langston Drive on Johns Island and arrested Tamar Jacquez Mikell.
On July 20, the victim said the two suspects drove to a home on Produce Lane. According to the victim, Mikell got out of the vehicle, approached a home and knocked on the door.
Mikell then asked the victim if someone was at the home.
According to the victim, when he answered "no," Mikell sat on the porch while the second suspect in the car moved from the passenger side to the driver's side of the vehicle.
The victim said he then heard a click and saw Mikell pointing a gun to his head. Police say Mikell then took the victim's wallet and got in the passenger's side of the red vehicle. Investigators say the driver of the vehicle has yet to be identified.
Mikell was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
