
Kevin Higgins has been given a 1 year extension to his contract at The Citadel that will keep him with the Bulldogs through the 2014 season the school's AD confirmed on Thursday night.
Higgins contract was last extended at the beginning of 2012 with a provision that he would get a 1 year extension each time the Bulldogs won a majority of their games against FCS teams. The Citadel went 7-4 this past season. Higgins 2nd winning season in his 8 year term with the team.
The coach has compiled a record of 38-51 over his time in charge. He was also named SoCon Coach of the Year for 2012, becoming just the 4th Bulldogs Head Coach to earn the honor. The Citadel had just their 4th winning season in the last 20 years in 2012 thanks to wins over top 10 teams Georgia Southern and Appalachian State.
