WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - A 20-year-old Walterboro man was sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison Friday after being convicted of robbing a Pizza Hut delivery driver.
According to a release from the United States Attorney's Office, Erique Wayne Boquedano-Hammond was sentenced to 105 months in prison after being convicted on charges of robbery affecting interstate commerce and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.
Authorities say the armed robbery happened in October 2011.
Boquedano-Hammond faced a maximum of 20 years on the robbery charge, and a mandatory 7 consecutive years on the firearms charge.
The case was investigated by officers of the Walterboro Public Safety and agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
