BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The Berkeley County Coroner's Office says a Goose Creek man died early Sunday morning after he was hit by a vehicle on Red Bank Road.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury says 40-year-old Marco Recinos was crossing the road near Goose Creek High Saturday night when he was hit by a vehicle.

Authorities say Recinos was taken by helicopter to MUSC where he later died at 2:55 a.m. Sunday. The coroner's office says he died from massive head trauma.

The accident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Berkeley County Coroner's Office.
