South Carolina has scheduled a 4pm press conference for Wednesday where it's expected Running Back Marcus Lattimore will announce that he'll forgo his final year of eligibility and declare for the NFL Draft.
Lattimore is trying to bounce back from his 2nd major knee injury in 2 years when he suffered damage to his ACL and LCL during the Gamecocks game against Tennessee on October 27th. He believes that rehabbing with NFL trainers would be the quickest way for him to get healthy according to the report.
Lattimore has reportedly talked with a number of current and former NFL running backs who have gone through serious knee injuries such as Willis McGahee, Frank Gore and Eddie George about what it would take to recover. He has also gotten the blessing of South Carolina Head Coach Steve Spurrier according to ESPN.
If he has played his last down for the Gamecocks, Lattimore leaves as the school's all-time leader in rushing touchdowns with 38 and his 2,677 rushing yards is good enough for 6th in school history.
