The South Carolina Stingrays (13-13-0-2) saw their season-long six-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday night in a 6-0 loss to the Greenville Road Warriors (14-10-1-1) the North Charleston Coliseum.
Road Warriors defenseman Kyle Haines opened the scoring at 6:04 of the first period blasting a shot past the blocker of Stingrays goaltender Adam Morrison (L, 23 saves on 29 shots) from the blue line.
Defenseman Mike Marcou made it a 2-0 lead on the power play at 9:22 of the second period.
The Road Warriors added four tallies in the third period to complete the game scoring. Forward Bretton Cameron capitalized on the man advantage at 4:32 followed by forward Andrew Yogan's fifth goal of the season at 6:20. Forward Jordie Johnston pushed the score to 5-0 at 7:29 and Road Warriors leading scorer Brandon Wong buried his 10th tally of the campaign at 13:46. Road Warriors goaltender Nathan Lieuwen recorded his first professional shutout stopping all 26 Stingrays shots. The Stingrays ended game 0-for-4 on the power play while the Road Warriors went 2-for-4.
