CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston County Coroner's Office says the woman who was killed in an accident with a semi truck on Savannah Highway on Monday was from Seabrook Island.

The coroner's office identified the victim as 71-year-old Ann Schjorring, who died from injuries sustained in the crash.

According to the Charleston Police Department, the semi truck was traveling north on Savannah Highway when an SUV traveling the opposite direction made a left turn in front of the semi truck.

Police say Schjorring contributed to the accident.

Authorities had shut down the northbound lane on Savannah Highway in the area of Main Road following the accident in Charleston County.

Police responded to the accident around 4:34 p.m. and cleared the scene around 8:30 p.m.
