SPARTANBURG, SC (WYFF) - A woman was injured after she stopped to help a man who had fallen near an Upstate hospital. Her car ended up running over both the woman and the man she was trying to help, according to Spartanburg Public Safety Capt. Regina Nowak.
Nowak said the man was leaving Spartanburg Regional Hospital and was near the outpatient area when he fell in the road Tuesday afternoon. When the woman stopped her car and got out to check on the man, the car rolled forward and ran over them.
The woman was stuck under the car and had to be extricated, Nowak said. The man and woman were taken into Spartanburg Regional for their injuries.
Nowak said that the woman suffered a broken hip and broken leg. She said the man had no obvious injuries.
