Traffic back to normal on Highway 17 following light malfunction

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities have opened traffic in the area of Anna Knapp Boulevard at Johnny Dodds Boulevard after a traffic light malfunction caused traffic to back up Wednesday evening.

According to police officials, a downed power line caused the disruption in the lights. 

Officers directed traffic as crews fixed the problem.

    A grease fire caused minor damage to the kitchen of a James Island Burger King early Wednesday.James Island Fire Department officials said the fire started in the fryer around 5 a.m. at the restaurant on Folly Road.The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was injured.The Charleston Fire Department also responded to the scene.Copyright 2013 WCSC.
