MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - The Town of Mount Pleasant said good bye to police chief Harry Sewell on Friday.
Sewell has been with the department since 1990. The city hosted a retirement ceremony for Sewell, who's last day on the job will be Monday.
He'll assume his new duties as the deputy senior chaplin on Jan. 1 for the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy.
Following the celebration, Mayor Billy Swails officially pinned Major Carl Ritchie as the new police chief.
Ritchie served in the Air Force and has been with the Mount Pleasant Police Department since 1989.
