St. Stephen man accused of exposing children to meth

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

A St. Stephen man is accused of exposing children to meth after investigators discovered a meth lab in Berkeley County.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office charged Jon Edward Sumler with four counts of exposing a child to methamphetamine and attempting to manufacture methamphetamine.

On Dec. 23, deputies executed a search warrant at a home in St. Stephen where authorities say they located several components used to manufacture meth.

An incident report states that some of the items found at the home included Sudafed pill containers, Coleman fuel, coffee filters, salt and multiple plastic jugs with various liquids and solids.

Officials with the sheriff's office say Sumler was already being held at the Hill-Finlea Detention Center on other charges.
