Sheriff releases photo of Pawleys Island bank robber

PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is asking for help identifying a suspect after a bank robbery in Pawleys Island.

Sheriff's office spokesperson Carrie Cuthbertson said investigators were looking for a white male who robbed The Citizens Bank, located at 10769 Ocean Highway 17, around noon Monday.

Cuthbertson said the suspect walked in and demanded money before fleeing the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect appears to be 25 to 35 years of age. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, Cuthbertson said.

Cuthbertson said the suspect is of a slim build and stands between 5'7" and 5'10".  He has hazel-colored eyes.

No one was injured during the incident and the suspect did not present a weapon, according to Cuthbertson.

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office has set up a perimeter around the scene and the Georgetown County Sheriff's Bloodhound Tracking Team is working the area.
