Police investigating shooting, robbery in N. Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are investigating a shooting and robbery which happened early Thursday on a North Charleston street corner.

According to North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor, two men told officers they were hanging out on the corner of Rockingham and Rebecca streets around 3 a.m. when they were approached by an unknown man.

The victims said the man was dressed in all black clothing, and robbed them at gunpoint. The victims said the suspect made off with a cell phone, $5, and a jacket.

The victims also told police the suspect fired two shots as he was leaving, one of which grazed the elbow of one man.

Pryor said EMS responded to the scene and treated that man for the gunshot wound.

Police have not released a detailed description of the suspect.
