Ground-breaking ceremony set for new Sullivan's Island Elementary School

SULLIVAN'S ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - School board and town officials will gather Monday to kick off construction for a new elementary school on Sullivan's Island.

A ground-breaking ceremony for the new Sullivan's Island Elementary School will take place Monday, January 7 at 11 a.m. The ceremony will be held at 2015 I'On Avenue.

Susan King, Principal of SIES, along with Superintendent Dr. Nancy J. McGinley, Sullivan's Island Mayor Pro-Tem Mike Perkis, and many others will be at the ceremony.

The Sullivan's Island Elementary School singers will also be on hand.

At over 70,000 square feet, the new school will allow for an enrollment of 500 students.
