GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Officials with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office say an 18-year-old girl accused of using a knife to cut her cousin multiple times has been arrested.

Investigators say Laswana Gamble was arrested on Friday and locked up at the Georgetown County Detention Center.

On Thursday afternoon, deputies responded to a home on Mahogany Avenue for a report of a victim being cut by a knife. An incident report states that an argument broke out between Gamble and her cousin which escalated when Gamble took out a knife from her purse and attacked the victim.

Deputies say the victim suffered from multiple wounds and was transported to the Georgetown Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities then began a search for Gamble after investigators say she fled the scene before authorities arrived.
