ST. STEPHEN, SC (WCSC) -

Police say a 15-year-old boy was seriously injured early Monday during a shooting in St. Stephen.

According to St. Stephen Police Department Chief John Waters, the shooting happened at 104 Nings Place around 4:30 a.m.

Waters said the 15-year-old was shot four times in the hand, arm, and back before he drove himself to the nearby Citgo gas station on Byrnes Drive, where witnesses called authorities.

The 15-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Waters said the suspect in the crime, 18-year-old Jordan Johnson, of Eutawville, also suffered injuries.  Waters said it appears Johnson's head was either grazed by a bullet or struck with the pistol.

Waters said Johnson is charged with attempted murder, and the 15-year-old would also face charges.  Waters said Johnson told investigators the shooting was sparked by the 15-year-old making fun of his sister.

Although Waters initially said only one gun was used in the shooting, he later confirmed two guns were used.

Waters also said shell casings and illegal drugs were found at the scene of the shooting.  At this time, it is unclear if others were involved with the shooting.
