CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

MUSC police officials say they have arrested a 21-year-old man who authorities say was caught on video using a skateboard to smash a camera at an elevator in MUSC.

Authorities charged Matthew Whiten with malicious injury to real property.

Investigators say Whiten's arrest was made after police received several tips following the airing of the surveillance video.

Police say the incident happened around 5:15 a.m. on Jan. 4 in an elevator in the parking garage attached to the Harborview tower.
