John Zernhelt, who spent 1 season as the Head Coach at The Citadel back in 2004, was fired by the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday after 7 seasons as their Tight Ends Coach.
"There's no need to go into it. You can ask him," Zernhelt told The Tennessean of the teams Head Coach Mike Munchak. "I enjoyed it. It was an opportunity for me to teach guys fundamentals, and I worked with some quality guys. I am a teaching coach, and that is what I enjoyed the most. I enjoyed being able to help them out any way I could."
Zernhelt spent the 2004 season with the Bulldogs after being named Head Coach to replace Ellis Johnson. He led the team to a 3-7 record before leaving to become the Tight Ends Coach for the New York Jets. He would spend 1 year in New York before joining the Titans.
