NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The North Charleston Performing Arts Center has been named one of the top-selling theatres in the world, according to Pollstar.

Concert industry magazine Pollstar has released its list of the "Top 100 Ticket-Selling Theatres in the World for 2012", and the PAC came in at No. 58. It is also the only venue in South Carolina to make the list.

According to the rankings, the PAC sold 106,923 tickets in 2012.

The PAC's ranking puts it ahead of other major southeast theatres, such as Cobb Energy Theatre in Atlanta (No. 59), Belk Theatre in Charlotte (No. 60), and Carolina Theatre in Durham (No. 98).

Topping the list of top ticket-selling venues in 2012 was the Radio City Music Hall in New York, NY. The theatre sold 1,518,120 tickets throughout the year.

Pollstar compiled their list using reported attendance numbers for live events from all venues, regardless of capacity.
