GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -
The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office has arrested two people accused of breaking into a building and attempting to steal metal.
Investigators charged 31-year-old James Matthew Chavis and 25-year-old Charlene Denise Ard with third-degree burglary and possessing burglary tools.
On Friday afternoon, a caretaker at the Andrews Wire building on 184 Wire Drive in Andrews, called police after he heard suspicious noise in the building.
When deputies arrived they found Chavis hiding in the building, according to authorities.
An incident report states that Ard was attempting to leave the scene in a vehicle pulling a trailer, but the exit was blocked. Both of the suspects were locked up at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
