
The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Matt Beca has been reassigned to the team from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Beca, 26, skated in two games with the Checkers adding one assist. The Mississauga, Ontario, native dressed in four games with the Stingrays this season scoring two points (one goal, one assist) and 31 contests with the Florida Everblades adding 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists). In 14 total AHL games, with the Checkers and Springfield Falcons over a three-year professional career, Beca has one goal and two assists for three points. The Stingrays received Beca in a trade with the Everblades on December 31, 2012 in exchange for forward Matthew Pistilli.
