A week after announcing on his Instagram account that he'd be returning to South Carolina for his senior season, Gamecocks WR Ace Sanders went to his Twitter feed on Tuesday night and implied that he changed his mind and would be leaving Columbia to enter the NFL Draft.
That was followed by a slew of tweets from current and former Gamecocks teammates congratulating Sanders on the move.
Current teammates Marcus Lattimore, Dylan Thompson and Seth Strickland also tweeted encougaring words to Sanders which he retweeted and responded by saying "So much support! Y'all don't know how much that means to me !!!!! I love you all !!!! #ThankYou"
Sanders served as a major weapon for Steve Spurrier's team on offense and special teams. He led the team in receptions and rec. TD's and was 2nd in rec. yards. He also averaged 14.8 yards per punt return, which was 4th in the nation.
Tuesday was the final day for underclassmen to declare for the draft. They can withdraw their names by Friday if they haven't signed with an agent.
If Sanders is done at South Carolina, his final game was one to remember. He returned a punt for a TD and caught a TD pass in the Gamecocks win over Michigan in the Outback Bowl on New Years Day. Sanders was named the MVP of the game.
