COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC/AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley says jobs, health care and education will be among the many topics in her State of the State address.
Haley is slated to speak in House chambers at 7 p.m. Wednesday. We will carry the address online. You can watch it here.
The Republican governor told reporters she's going to have a different take on education, though she did not elaborate. She will again lay out her opposition to expanding Medicaid coverage under the federal health care law.
But she says she'll also propose health care solutions.
House Democrats criticized the state's Republican leaders Tuesday as opposing expansion without having ideas of their own. The U.S. Supreme Court decision that upheld the federal law made expanding eligibility an option for states, rather than a requirement.
Haley says she'll speak for about 50 minutes.
