GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC) -

Georgetown police say a teen was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after accidentally shooting himself in the foot.

According to the Georgetown Police Department, a 15-year-old accidentally shot himself in his right foot with a 30-30 hunting rifle around 8:30 p.m. on Daisy Street.

Police said the teen, a student at Georgetown High School, was taken to Georgetown Memorial Hospital to be treated for the wound.

He was at home with his sister at the time of the shooting, police said.

No charges have been filed.
