Sheriff's office, courts reopen after bomb threat in Summerville

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office headquarters and the Summerville courts on Deming Way have been reopened after a reported bomb threat on Friday morning.

Sheriff's office spokesman Major John Garrison said bomb experts from the State Law Enforcement Division and the Charleston County Sheriff's Office examined a vehicle in the parking lot after they received reports there was an explosive device inside.

The vehicle was checked and removed from the area, Garrison said.

Both the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and Summerville courts are now open.
