SPARTANBURG, SC (WYFF) -

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting outside a club that sent a teenager to the hospital.

Deputies told News 4 that they were called to Club Maze on Howard Street around 3:00 Saturday morning just as the club was closing.

Investigators say they found a 19-year-old male victim shot in the face near his left eye.

A suspect vehicle description was then put out to all Sheriff's Office units as well as other law enforcement agencies in Spartanburg County. Minutes later, deputies said they spotted the suspect vehicle.

After a traffic stop deputies arrested Joshua Emmanuel Chapman, 19, of Greenville. Investigators also recovered the handgun used to shoot the victim.

Chapman was charged with attempted murder and possession of weapon during a violent crime.

The suspect and victim did not know each other prior to the shooting, according to investigators.

The victim is being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound at a local hospital.
