South Carolina was without a Defensive Line coach for less than a day as Brad Lawing, the longest tenured Gamecocks coach, left the school late Sunday night to coach the Defensive Ends at Florida. Steve Spurrier turned right around and hired Deke Adams from North Carolina to replace Lawing.
Lawing spent 17 seasons with the Gamecocks from 1989-1998 and again from 2005 through last season.
Adams was with the Tar Heels just one season under Larry Fedora. He also spent 3 seasons under Fedora at Southern Mississippi.
