ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office released images Thursday of a couple who are responsible for the theft of customers' purses at Wal-Mart in Orangeburg.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said the man and woman are responsible for the theft of three women's purses since the beginning of January.

The couple appears in surveillance video together and in one trip to the store on North Road, they have a child with them.

They are responsible for more than $1000 in damages to the individuals excluding the expenses to replace the items that were in those purses.

Ravenell concluded, "It is imperative that everyone protect their personal and financial information. Men should always keep their wallets in an inside pocket of their jacket or their front pocket. Women should carry their purse on their shoulder and tucked under their arm."

If you have any information, call the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office at 803-533-5823.
