Jamie Childers, a former QB at Wando, signed a reserve/futures contract with the New York Giants the team announced on Friday.
Childers, who played both QB and TE at Coastal Carolina, had originally signed a free agent deal with the St. Louis Rams after not being selected in the 2012 NFL Draft. He played in 1 preseason game with the team before being waived in the middle of August.
Childers made a name for himself playing Quarterback for the Warriors. Then during his Junior year with the Chanticleers, he began playing Tight End as well. At tight end, he had 30 receptions for 451 yards (15.0-yard avg.) and four touchdowns. As a quarterback, he completed 48 of 108 passes for 545 yards with five touchdowns and rushed for 280 yards and four scores on 91 carries.
