BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and SLED are investigating a fire at a camper in Bluffton where authorities found a male body.

On Monday afternoon around noon, emergency crews responded to a fire in the area of 83 Alljoy Rd.  Authorities received information that a camper was on fire and someone was still believed to be inside.

According to investigators, the camper was parked behind a home and had been occupied by a person related to the homeowner.

An incident report states that after crews put the fire out, a male's body was found inside the camper.

Authorities say the fire was reported by the homeowner who was alerted by a neighbor.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The identity of the body is pending further investigation and an autopsy.
