CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County School Board is inviting law enforcement agencies, at their cost, to propose agreements to place school resource officers in CCSD schools.
Monday night, the board voted 7-1 to open up discussions with law enforcement agencies in Mt. Pleasant, the Charleston County Sheriff's Office and City of Charleston police force on the topic.
Currently only 21 elementary schools in Charleston County have school resource officers on campus and all of those schools are in North Charleston.
