Wednesday brings strong gusts, chance of rain

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Live 5 Meteorologist Chad Watson says it will be a windy Wednesday, with gusts potentially topping out at 40 mph later in the afternoon:

A windy day is on the way for the Lowcountry for Wednesday. A powerful storm system over the deep south to our west is pulling a lot of warm air up from the south and those breezes will be very gusty at times today. A wind advisory is in effect as gusts could top 40 mph later this afternoon. Be careful on the bridges and overpasses. Highs are way above normal today as well, reaching the upper 70s and a few lower 80s before rain and thunder arrives later tonight. Most of the day will see a mix of sun and clouds with a few showers possible by the rush hour.
