Downtown duo accused of dealing cocaine near school

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department has arrested two suspected drug dealers after investigators found cocaine and a handgun at an apartment in downtown Tuesday night.

Authorities charged 33-year-old Ricardo Williams and 39-year-old Peter Demeter Brown with trafficking cocaine base and cocaine and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute within close proximity of a school.

Both men were arrested after authorities executed a search warrant at a Line Street apartment Tuesday night.

Officers say they found 78 grams of cocaine, 58 grams of cocaine base and a handgun.

Both men were locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center. Williams was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police are continuing the investigation.
