The Charleston Police Department says a motorcyclist has been charged with following too closely for an accident on Wednesday that had shut down eastbound lanes on I-526.

The accident happened in the area of the Leeds Avenue exit around 5:10 p.m.

Investigators say a motorcycle ran into the back of a pickup truck which was slowing down.

The motorcyclist was transported to MUSC with non-life threatening injuries.
