WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston Police Department says a 21-year-old North Charleston woman was charged after giving nearly $1,000 in discounts to three people at a department store she worked in.

Investigators charged Bianca N. Frasier with embezzlement.

On the afternoon of Dec. 31, 2012, officers responded to the Target on 2070 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in regards to an employee stealing.

Officers met and spoke with a supervisor who said Frasier, who worked at the Target at the time, had been discounting merchandise and failing to scan items for three people on multiple occasions.

Store officials said the total value of the loss of the store was $946.64.

A police report states at that time, Frasier said she was "just trying to help people out." Police officers then detained Frasier and placed her on criminal trespass notice from Target.
