Report: Thieving couple puts child in danger during pursuit

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office says a couple wanted for stealing three purses at a Walmart were charged with child endangerment after the two attempted to elude authorities by speeding off in a car with their child.

Investigators charged 21-year-old Jordan Recardo Dove and 24-year-old Ronee Alicia Kirby with simple larceny of $2,000 or less, failure to stop for a blue light and child endangerment for having an unrestrained child in a vehicle.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said the two were wanted for stealing three purses at Walmart.

"After the release of the photos of the two individuals seen stealing purses in Wal-Mart, our officers have received a number of leads from Crime Stoppers and citizens providing information about persons in the surveillance images," Ravenell said.

According to investigators, as deputies were attempting to serve warrants, the couple saw the officers in their yard and sped off.
