ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A truck driver from Ladson was taken to the hospital Thursday evening after he lost control of his 18-wheeler on Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County, troopers say.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Stephen Crider was headed east in his 2000 International tractor-trailer when he ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
The incident happened near mile marker 151.
Crider was airlifted to Richland Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time.
He will be charged with driving too fast for conditions, troopers said.
The roadway was shut down for 45 minutes while crews cleared the scene.
Both lanes are now open and traffic is moving again.
