BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says two Berkeley County Sheriff's deputies have been taken to MUSC following an accident in Cordesville.
According to reports, the accident happened in the area of Highway 402 at the intersection of Hard Pinch Road.
Troopers say deputies thought that a car was going to pull out in front of them, so they veered off the right side of the road and crossed back over hitting a utility trailer attached to a Ford F-150 Pickup truck.
Officials say deputies overcorrected and did a 180, slamming their rear of their vehicle into a tree.
Investigators say the deputy driving was cited with driving too fast for conditions.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office says both deputies are in stable condition at MUSC with non-life threatening injuries.
