Cops: Driver captured after crashing car following police pursuit

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say they have captured a man who led deputies on a chase in Dorchester County and ended in Colleton County when the driver crashed at an intersection.

According to investigators, a police pursuit started when the driver of a car failed to stop for a Dorchester County Sheriff's deputy.

Reports indicate the car crashed at the intersection of Highway 17-A and McDaniel Town Road.

Investigators have not released the suspect's name.

    Charleston police officers are crediting a concerned citizen for four arrests on Tuesday morning.A department spokesperson said they received a tip about several men with handguns along Norman Street at around 1am.After a responding officer tried to pull over a vehicle with several males inside, the men fled on foot.
