The Charleston Southern Buccaneers will make the 700-mile trip to Lawrenceville, N.J. to face Rider University in the 2013 Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters. The game was announced on Monday night in ESPNU.
The Bucs are 2-0 in their BracketBusters appearances. CSU beat Wofford in the Buc Dome last season, 77-59, and UNC Wilmington in the 2010-'11 season, 63-58.
The game will be the Bucs' first against Rider and their sixth all-time against the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. CSU is 3-2 against current MAAC opponents, but has not faced one since 2002-2003.
Rider is 12-12 overall, 7-5 in the MAAC, and hosts first-place Niagara (14-9, 10-2 MAAC) Thursday.
This is Rider's eighth BracketBuster game. The Broncs are 3-4 in BracketBuster games, having defeated Delaware in 2011 and losing to Albany in 2012, most recently.
Rider head coach Kevin Baggett is in his first seasons at the helm of the Broncs' program. He is a former assistant at Coastal Carolina.
The Big South is 12-23 all-time in the BracketBusters, including a League-best four wins in 2012.
