Boeing asking FAA for permission to test fly 787

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A new development in the grounding of the Dreamliner. Boeing is asking the Federal Aviation Administration for permission to test fly the 787.

An FAA spokesman said there is no word on when the federal agency will make a decision.

The FAA grounded the Dreamliners just over three weeks ago following problems with batteries in two Japan Airlines dreamliners.

A Boeing spokeswoman would not elaborate Monday night on what possible fix Boeing is planning to test.

But there's a sign that 787 assembly continues as a Dreamlifter arrived in Charleston Monday evening, according to Flight Aware. The plane is known to deliver parts for the Dreamliner.
