CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says two Charleston Police Department cruisers, which were responding to a disabled vehicle on I-526, were damaged after another vehicle hit both patrol cars on I-526 Wednesday afternoon.

According to highway patrol, both police cruisers had parked behind the disabled vehicle on the General William C. Westmoreland Bridge, when another vehicle lost control, bounced off a concrete wall and struck both of the police cruisers.

One lane headed north into North Charleston was closed as crews cleared up the scene.

Authorities say no one was injured and no charges have been filed.
