Deputies searching for suspect in poker game heist

BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities are looking for a suspect who held up a poker game at a home in Beaufort County and made off with cash and cellphones.

Just before midnight on Wednesday, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Country Manor Road for a robbery.

The homeowner said that he and several other guests had been playing poker in the garage when an unknown male subject with a gun came in and robbed them at gunpoint.

According to the victims, the suspect came in through an unlocked side door and ordered everyone to the floor.

The suspect then ordered one of the victims to collect cash from each person and place it in a bag provided by the suspect. After stealing money and two cellphones, the suspect took off on foot.

The suspect was described as a slender, light-skinned black male wearing a green hooded sweatshirt with a gold design and a mask that concealed the lower half of his face.

The victims also reported hearing the suspect yelling to a second suspect who was standing outside the garage during the robbery.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to call Investigator Cpl. B. Disbrow at (843) 255-3407 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
