Victim identified after crashing into townhouse in Moncks Corner

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The Berkeley County Coroner's Office has identified the person killed after their car hit a brick wall and then crashed into a townhouse Friday afternoon.

The coroner's office says 60-year-old William Clyde Lynch of Moncks Corner was traveling north on Old Highway 52, when he ran off the left side of the road.

Authorities say after Lynch left the road, he struck a brick wall and a townhouse.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the accident happened in the area of Old Highway 52 and Cypress Plantation Road.

According to the coroner's office the victim died at the scene of the crash and the manner of death is pending until further investigation.

Highway patrol says there was minimal damage to the town house, and no one was inside the home when the incident occurred.
