CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for two more after a home invasion was reported in downtown Charleston early Monday.

According to Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis, the home invasion happened around 12:30 a.m. at 313 Sumter Street, when three masked men, two of them armed with handguns and one of them with a baseball bat, entered the residence and robbed the victims of their money, cell phones and electronic equipment.

Three of the victims were assaulted by the suspects.  The victims were treated at the scene by EMS.

One of the victims' boyfriends told police he was on Skype with his girlfriend when he saw a man armed with a handgun walk into her bedroom, according to a police report.

The Skype call was then dropped immediately, and the boyfriend called 911 to report the home invasion.

The report also states the suspects made off with six Apple Macbooks and three iPhones.

Francis said one of the suspects, 20-year-old DeShawn Heyward, of Hanahan, was caught on Line Street near Rutledge Avenue after the victims provided descriptions of their attackers.

The other two suspects are described as black males who appeared to be in their 20s, with a medium build, standing about 5‘10''.

Anyone with information about this incident or the suspects can call Charleston police at 577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
