NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - All lanes on Ashley Phosphate Road in the area of Southrail Road have been opened following an accident involving a train and a truck.

The North Charleston Police Department says it all started when a box truck was stopped on the train tracks.

Police say the driver could not move the vehicle off the track because of traffic in front and behind him.

According to authorities, the driver was able to get out of the truck before the train hit the truck, but a passenger remained inside.

Authorities say the passenger was not injured following the impact.
